Puerto Plata will host its first flag football game this Sunday when the Santo Domingo league will take on the newly formed Puerto Plata League as both teams are preparing for the World Cup tournament which will take place in Puerto Plata in just 18 days.
The two teams are evenly matched as both have just started playing flag, but the advantage has to go to home town Puerto Plata who are coached daily by IFFF Marketing Director Butch Ebo of England and IFFF Vice President Fernando Rodriquez of Uruguay. Both IFFF member shave lived in Puerto Plata since December preparing the town for the upcoming World Cup Festival were over 50 teams from 12 countries will take part.
Both Fernando and Butch have been recruiting and teaching flag football throughout the Dominican as to prepare the host country, Over 100 players have participated so far and the interest keeps growing.
