   Venezuela Women's National (2004)

Without a doubt Gret brought the best Venezuela women's national team to our 5th World Cup event in Puerto Plata. Gret with extensive experience from continuously learning the game and playing against teams in the USA was their best player and also a great leader. Ana who came down to the Dominican Republic three weeks before the event assisted the IFFF by coaching the Female Dominican team and her administrative role was surely a super bonus for the federation, thank you for your contribution. This Venezuela team are in the history books of the World Cup as they are the first female group to not only win a game but gain a hard worked third place spot. We hope you guys keep up the hard work and improve as a team and help the rest of the girls in your country achieve what you have accomplished, well done!!!

4man Tournament in Valencia, Venezuela

The biggest 4on4 flag football tournament took place in Venezuela this month, the event was very successful with 18 teams participating in total. The 4man program is gradually growing in Venezuela according to event organizer Nelson Castillo "a.k.a Nelly", Nelson Castillo is one of the veteran flag football players in Venezuela that has been helping the sport grow and has been an ambassador to the IFFF for five years. The event was held over two days with the usual round robin taking place on day one and single elimination on day two for the Men's while the youth sector used the single elimination.

In the Men's A category In the zone led by Nelson Castillo beat and experienced Bulldog team by 12-0 to be crowned champions, in the B category Team X beat Gladiadores A by 40-19 to secure the B championship. The youth was won by an experienced Gladiadores youth team beating new team Lobos by 18-12 in a close encounter. The Lobos team were only playing in their first tournament showing immense talent and skill to get so far against the Caracas based Gladiadores team whom their seniors were also participating in the event.

The tournament series will continue throughout the duration of the year and will be organized by the newly created GGSE FLAG FOOTBALL CARABOBO, managed by Nelson himself and girlfriend that also will be running a new flag league. GGSE shall also be teaching kids from 8-12 in different schools around Valencia in order to get a new pewee league on the way, inclusive of their gradual progress should be the introduction of  a 30+ years old league to cater for the older group.
