Rochester,NY-World Cup Qualifier
Teams from five different states took part in this past Saturday’s
World Cup Qualifier. OH,PA,RI, MA, & NY all participated and
qualified for the 6th annual World Cup Extravaganza,
bringing the total number of qualified teams to 68, with 16 more
qualifiers remaining. Only 80 teams will be allowed to participate
at the World Cup Invitational tournament.
In the 8Man final it was an all home town championship as the
Raiders defeated Bloodline 13-0. The Raiders went undefeated on the
day at 3-0. The Raiders offensive line was massive giving there QB
plenty of time to pick away at the defenses.Bloodline was much
smaller than its arch rival but was scrappy. After losing there
first game 20-6 to the Red Dawgs of Providence,RI they eliminated
them by defeating them 13-7 in the playoffs. The Raiders will now
receive free entry, and two hotel rooms at the World Cup
Extravaganza, while the second place Bloodline will receive one
hotel room and ½ off registration.
In the four man no contact Gold div, Joe’s Pro’s showed its
dominance as it defeated the Panthers 28-18 for the title. Joes
Pro’s of Canton, OH traveled five hours while the panthers traveled
7 hours, both determined teams traveled so they could qualify early
and not wait for the big tournaments where several teams will be
left out. Joe’s Pros were led by veteran 51 year Old Qb Joe Malys
who threw for 13 td’s in four games.
In the 4Man Silver Division, it was the Jesters of Rochester
defeating 1 lump or two of Allentown,PA 20-14 for the crown. The
Jesters are all deaf and will be competing in the deaf nationals
Nov 4th in Pittsburg, PA.
